FAQ & Member Support
The questions everyone asks.
Straight answers about how OffPlan Care works alongside real insurance — what it covers, what it does not, and how to keep yourself protected.
The Basics
Yes. Your membership is month to month. Cancel or pause from your member account, no phone tree and no fight.
OffPlan Care replaces the routine care you use day to day. It does not replace catastrophic coverage. We help you keep a real ACA plan underneath for the rare, expensive event, because that is the only thing that prevents medical bankruptcy.
Cost & Enrollment
Yes, when you pair OffPlan Care with an HSA-eligible Bronze or Catastrophic plan, you can pay your membership with pre-tax HSA dollars, up to $150 a month individual or $300 a month family. See the HSA page for the full picture.
Your OffPlan Care membership starts right away, any day of the year. A catastrophic plan can usually only be bought during open enrollment or within 60 days of a major life event. If you are outside both, we start your membership now and schedule your coverage for the next enrollment window so it actually happens.
Catastrophic Plans
It is an official ACA plan tier with very low premiums and a very high deductible, a strong fit as an emergency-only backstop for a DPC member. Anyone under 30 can buy one. If you are 30 or older, you can get one if you qualify for a hardship or affordability exemption; otherwise an ACA Bronze plan is the equivalent floor. A licensed agency partner determines which you qualify for and places it for you.
A licensed insurance agency partner places it with you at no extra cost. They are licensed in your market, and you are never charged for this help.
Supplemental Coverage
Yes, as an optional cushion. These hand you cash to help with a hospital stay or accident and can help absorb your deductible. They are placed by the same licensed agency partner. They are a supplement, not a substitute for a real catastrophic plan, and we will always make that distinction clear.
No, and we will always tell you so. Indemnity pays a fixed amount of cash and then stops. It does not cap your exposure in a serious illness. Only a real catastrophic plan does that.
